Mobile Augmented Reality - SSTT Mobile

SSTT Mobile is a straight port of SSTT library to the Windows Mobile platform. The SSTT library is inherently multi-platform capable and this port underlines the commitment to support as many platforms as possible. As of January 2009 runs at approx. 1-5fps with tracking and 15fps without on this Samsung Omnia phone.

Ports

As of June 2009 SSTT mobile is being ported to:

  • Windows Mobile - complete, see demo
    • tested on Samsung Omnia, BlackJack III, Motorola Q, HP 614
  • Android - library complete via NDK - JNI interface needs to be revised
    • tested on HTC Magic
  • iPhone OS 3.x - incomplete - video capture not AppStore compatible, therefore this port has been postponed until direct API access to the camera image is possible
  • Symbian S60 - incomplete - most of the library compiles but the specific requirements for S60 and the diversity of revisions make it hard to commit to this platform.

Development

Main effort is spend on optimizing the code of the SSTT core library. Goal is to provide a unified code path for desktop and mobile devices. Furthermore, no legacy devices will be supported.
